The inspiration for the poem below stemmed from my recent milestone—I officially became a Canadian a few weeks ago. I felt compelled to pen down these verses as a celebration of the heroes who made this remarkable journey possible. FOR THE HEROES WHO MADE IT ALL POSSIBLE In a land so vast and free, I found my home anew, A black immigrant, now Proudly Canadian As a black immigrant in this land, I stand with pride today, To honor those who gave it all, on Remembrance Day. They left their homes, their loved ones, for a world unknown, To ensure our rights, our freedoms, seeds of unity were sown. Regardless of our colors, gender, beliefs, in this diverse array, They fought for all, a brighter day, on Remembrance Day. For every veteran's sacrifice, I offer thanks so true, They paved the way, a path we tread, to skies of endless blue. With gratitude in our hearts, forever we'll say, We'll never forget your selfless deeds, on Remembrance Day. In Canada's embrace, we stand as one, in love and harmony, For the veterans who shaped this land, we celebrate with Euphony.
