Strategic Tanker Transport Capability
(NORAD modernization)

Objective

To replace the existing CC-150 Polaris fleet capability, including Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR), strategic airlift, aeromedical evacuations, and strategic Government of Canada transport. The STTC platform will provide AAR for both domestic and expeditionary operations, while complementing the strategic airlift capabilities of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Air Mobility fleet. In support of NORAD Modernization, STTC will deliver an increased mandate of two additional Lines of Tasking, for a total of five, and provide rapid response to NORAD AAR missions.

Requirements

This project will replace the existing fleet capability, including strategic airlift, air-to-air refuelling, Aeromedical Evacuations and Strategic Government of Canada transport. The platform will provide air-to-air refuelling for both domestic and expeditionary coalition operations, while complementing the strategic airlift capabilities of the CC-177 Globemaster and the CC-144 Challenger (or replacement) fleets.
