I can’t say I know what it feels like for you to be away from loved ones this time of year, but I wanted to tell you that you are appreciated and I think of all who serve to keep us free. Thank you for your sacrifice and service to protect democracy security and our country. My grandfather fought in the war, I have such admiration and respect for what you do, I have fond memories of choosing which flag to unfold and hoist on his flag pole at our family cottage, Nova Scotia flag etc. We treated the flag with respect and raised it ceremoniously. It is with gratitude and appreciation I wish you all happy holidays and thank you.

As the snow is falling and deepening here in the Laurentians I am thinking of the Canadian Forces in Latvia and the key role you are playing in standing up for sovereignty. Your bravery and hard work and sacrifice are most appreciated.
