Objective
This project will rebuild the runway to address 5 Wing Goose Bay's secondary crosswind runway infrastructure deficiencies. The secondary crosswind runway is over twice its lifespan since the last pavement rehabilitation, which was completed in 1990.
Requirements
The scope of work will consists of:
- Removing 100mm of asphalt;
- Repairing underlying cracks to full depth;
- Repaving with 100mm of new asphalt;
- Repainting runway lines; and
- Three concrete encased duct banks will be installed for future electrical / lighting and communications system replacement.
