Objective
The PMSC project is providing the CF with a protected, Worldwide MILSATCOM capability. The project includes MILSATCOM terminals for ships and submarines, strategic communications units, and deployed land, sea and air forces.
Requirements
Provide DND with the long-range and protected communications capability critical to command and control of deployed forces by: acquiring guaranteed capability on the US highly protected, global, AEHF MILSATCOM space segment through a DND/DoD MOU entitled "Development, Documentation, Production and Initial Fielding of Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM)", signed in Nov 99, Procuring and installing, where appropriate, compatible ground segment (IMI ATG, Transportable and Naval) MILSATCOM terminals, and setting up an effective operations, management and life-cycle support system for the ground segment
